Credit Counseling Companies

Because of recent changes in the law, all debtors must now complete training, counseling and course work in credit counseling classes. A certificate of completion, during the preceding one hundred eighty days, is required before filing bankruptcy. This requirement only applies to individuals who are filing Chapter 7 or Chapter 13 cases. The course required must include a comprehensive budget analysis and training for individuals regarding approved methods of creating a monthly budget.
