Sources Of Temporary Financial Help & Assistance
Cash emergences are the equalizing factor all people share, rich and
poor alike, regardless of station in life. Most sources of temporary
financial help require collateral for credit or alternative
qualification under federal poverty guidelines. Low income and
unemployed persons receiving unemployment assistance qualify for free
legal advice under most pro bono programs, and may also qualify for
housing subsidies, food stamp supplements, and free medical care.
Cash assistance is almost non-existence, yet may be available from
charitable and/or non-profit organizations. Filing bankruptcy eliminates
debts, yet does nothing to generate cash for living expenses. For temporary
financial help coping with living expenses, public assistance programs,
for specific items, require an application and qualification that may
require weeks or months to process.
