Help Finding Lawyers and Attorney Fee Guidelines

A disputed claim is one that the debtor claims is not valid, yet a potential creditor insists is legal and collectable. In a Chapter 7 case, disputed claims must be listed to be discharged, and further, the creditor must receive actual notice of filing which provides an opportunity for formal dispute. Any unlisted claim, or claim unsupported by actual notice, will not be discharged. In practice, all debtors should include an exhaustive list of all claims, whether actual ,valid, disputed, unliquidated, contingent, or mixed.
