The law is clear - no person or organization may dispense legal
advice without a valid law license. Only individual attorneys, licensed
by the state, are qualified to render legal advice to a client.
Bankruptcy form preparation services provide forms, and fill in the
blanks with information provided by their clients. These services may
not however provide legal advice regarding best options, traps to avoid,
or legal ramifications of filing. The distinction between allowable
services is difficult to divine in many situations. Services that cross
the ethical line and engage in the unauthorized practice of law, are
know by a derogatory phrase - Bankruptcy Mills.
