The short answer - No - attorneys are not required when filing bankruptcy.
The better answer depends on each persons financial circumstance, assets
and liabilities, potential risks for legal snares, and expectations
regarding the final discharge. New bankruptcy laws intentionally force
most people in Chapter 13, for a period of years, requiring all
disposable income be paid to debtors even full payment is impossible.
