What was once the most popular option when filing bankruptcy has been
relegated in infamy. New limitations appearing in Chapter 7 bankruptcy laws
under the federal code now limit access to full discharges to cases
involving near catastrophic debts. One major study claims that over 50%
of all bankruptcies result from catastrophic illness which necessitated
medical bankruptcy filings. Proof of the outcome remains to be seen,
whether financial lobbyists have effect shutout individual discharges,
while leaving corporate Chapter 7 and Chapter laws virtually unchanged.
