Despite vehement creditor opposition, the actual cost of filing
bankruptcy is quite low, even when considering the future impact upon
FICO scores, credit ratings, and increases in interest rates. Other
future expenses may also include higher insurance premiums, and
aggravation explaining a prior legal event. But over all, in exchange
for the elimination of debts and a fresh financial start, these costs
are almost insignificant when regaining future financial stability,
family security, and peace of mind. And based purely on a cost befit
analysis, discharge costs merely pennies on the dollar.
