The challenges facing small business owners today are exacerbated by
a seemingly apathetic Congress. We compete with global sources of goods
and services provided by employees earning less than $40 per moth
(China, India, etc.). U.S. business are highly regulated, subject to
strict scrutiny, and must nevertheless compete, somehow, against those
who flaunt the law. the trend is clear - filing bankruptcy is a last
resort for many small businesses, and yet company bankruptcy filing is
restricted for individuals and sole proprietors. As our laws exist
today, each individual needs a personal corporation to enjoy the
freedoms of the wealthiest top 2%.
