The primary duty of the trustee in a Chapter 7 case is to collect all
nonexempt assets for distribution to creditors. In practice, few
distributions are made in Chapter 7 cases, because of the nonexistence
of uncovered assets. In addition, the trustee also carefully reviews
compliance with Chapter 7 rules and regulations, and in appropriate
cases of non compliance, objects to discharge. Alternatively, in
deserving cases, the trustee may also defend against motions and
recommend discharge for deserving debtors.
